Through our New Beginnings Program, we handle all orders promptly and provide a thorough insurance verification process, meeting plan coverage guidelines as required by the various insurance plans. If you choose, you may upgrade to a premium model breast pump. You may pay the cost difference out of pocket that exceeds your insurance plan’s maximum allowable benefit amount (when the plan allows). Better Living Now accepts over 500 insurance plans, including Medicaid plans. Additionally, each breast pump has free nationwide delivery, and includes a minimum 1-year warranty!

Easy Ordering of Your Supplies Via Our Website:

After you find the products you require, click whether you’d like to “Pay Now” via credit card or “Bill to Insurance” and our team will submit to your insurance plan for approval (Commercial plans or Medicaid). If you have secondary insurance, please include those details as well.

When you’re checking out, don’t forget to submit your required insurance plan details / payment information as we will need this to complete your order.

If written prescriptions are required from your providers, there are a few options:

1. Request our Better Living Now team to contact your provider for required prescriptions and they will complete your order for you.
2. E-mail your prescription to orders@betterlivingnow.com. If you are ordering a breast pump, please e-mail our New Beginnings Department at newbeginnings@betterlivingnow.com.
3. Print an Order Form and include all your contact, insurance card, and payment to be mailed to us with the supplies your provider is prescribing.

New Legislation called the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act aka (ACA)

Due to recent federal health law provisions, nursing mothers have greater accessibility to breastfeeding options.

Under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA), breastfeeding services and supplies are a covered benefit. Many health plans will need to implement this change with the first plan/policy year that begins on or after August 1, 2012. If you have a private insurance carrier or commercial insurer, this law applies to you.

I am pregnant, what does this legislation mean to me?

This means that commercial health providers are now required by law to allow breast pumps as a covered expense for lactating women. There can be much variation around coverage guidelines, co-pays, and deductibles depending on your insurance plan. Better Living Now's Insurance Verification department will verify your breast pump request with your plan and inform you of your exact coverage guidelines prior to supplying your breast pump. Below we indicate which breast pumps are "generally" covered at no additional out-of-pocket expense. Other models may have an additional out-of-pocket expense as they are premium items not considered medically necessary. We do our very best to provide the greatest value within your coverage.

Why is the breast pump being covered?

There are many benefits to breastfeeding, for mom and baby. The natural transition of the newborn from the womb to breastfeeding will help to create a unique bond between mother and baby.

The breast milk is very rich in nutrients and antibodies to protect your baby. For most babies - especially premature babies - breast milk is easier to digest than formula. Breastfeeding your baby from birth will aid in proper growth and development. Breastfed infants are less susceptible to illnesses and generally recover from sickness sooner than formula fed babies. The nutritional properties of breast milk also help to enhance cognitive development.

Breastfeeding is also linked to a lower risk of these health problems in women: Type 2 diabetes, breast cancer, ovarian cancer, and postpartum depression.

This coverage guideline varies by insurance plan. It could be:

1. anytime during your pregnancy
2. some period prior to giving birth, such as 30 to 90 days prior
3. not until the birth of your child.
